History

As a facade engineering company, Mebatech has been developed constructive and creative concepts for discerning clients over three decades now. We allow ourselves to be measured by high standards and see our work in the overall context of the projects. This results in solutions that have dealt intensively with the interfaces to other specialist disciplines and the search for synergies.
This approach has shaped our work right from the start and will continue to be the inner driving force for our search and looking for new ideas in the future. The results are diverse, award-winning special constructions and facade types, which shape the public space through their presence until today.

Mebatech AG was founded in 1991 by Jan Andre Zaba as an engineering office for metal construction technology.
One year later, Adrio D'Agostinis joined the creative company as co-owner and partner. The first major orders such as the Löwenplatz and Feldpausch commercial buildings were soon realized together with Theo Hotz Partner Architects. Pioneering buildings such as the KKL Luzern by Jean Nouvel or the new building for Messe Basel were designed by Mebatech.

The company developed steadily in the following years and employs eight to ten engineers, architects, constructors and designers til now. In order to guaranteed that high level of planning competence in the future, great importance is attached to the training of talented young employees.

The engineering company is characterized by its differentiated approach and its interdisciplinary know-how from very different areas, which flows into our work. From this in-depth knowledge of facade construction, mechanical engineering, thermodynamics, statics and building physics, constructive and creative accents for new, innovative building envelopes have been created over and over again.

Whether in the careful handling of existing buildings and resources or in new buildings and renovations, preserving the value of architectural monuments, we become reliable partners for our clients. The understanding of creative ideas and visions, the willingness to explore new limits and the mixture of calling and devotion to detail define Mebatech.

Long-term employees Thomas Burkard and Christian Mörz took over the management of Mebatech in 2020, with the same credo, the same passion and with new impulses for future challenges. Mebatech should continue to be the first contact for unique building envelopes and high architectural standards.
