Ground-Coupled Double Skin Facade

This definition is based on the idea of a double-shell, glazed facade system with a closed air circuit, the volume flow of which is conditioned via an earth register. The system uses the seasonal temperature differences between the outside air and the ground for heating and cooling.

The boundary conditions for raising and lowering the temperature level and the parameterized control were developed in an integral planning. Based on these values, use-specific, alternating operating states arise in the system, which result in synergy effects for the building services.

Thanks to the system-integrated monitoring, measurement data is continuously recorded, documented, analyzed and incorporated into the building management system. The aim is to create an interaction between the facade and building services and to create a building that actually breathes through the changing volume flow.
